Reestablished Connection between Symantec Antivirus and AV Server

If the required FW port 8014 is open (Secar Test is successful.) and SEP client is not getting updated. You need to follow these steps:-
  • Open the AV client and click on ‘Help’
  • Click on ‘Troubleshooting’
  • If the Server is in ‘Offline’ mode
  • In such case, you need to download Symantec Communication Updater (SCU) using following URL

Download SCU


  • Extract zip file and you will get the following files.
  • Double Click on ‘SylinkDrop.exe. The connection will be re-established.
